APALACHICOLA RESEARCH RESERVE OFFERS FREEMONTHLY LECTURE SERIES ‘RESERVE WEDNESDAYS’
~Learn about the unique natural history of the Florida Panhandle in this new lecture series~
APALACHICOLA – Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve announces a new monthly natural history lecture series, “Reserve Wednesdays,” that explores the ecology, geology and natural history of the Florida Panhandle.
Free lectures will be held the third Wednesday of each month from 2-3 p.m. at the Apalachicola Research Reserve Nature Center in Eastpoint.
Sara Merritt, environmental specialist with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will kick off the series on Jan. 21 with a lecture about deadhead logging in the Apalachicola Bay area. Participants will learn about this unique method of logging from a historical and ecological perspective.
The “Reserve Wednesdays” lectures are free and are held at the Apalachicola National Research Reserve. For more information contact Gibby Conrad at 850-670-7702.
