The Apalachicola River Basin and Apalachicola Bay comprise the most ecologically diverse natural area in the southern United States. The floodplain forest of the Apalachicola River protects, feeds, and nurtures Apalachicola Bay--and the people who depend on it for their livelihood. The diverse species of plants and animals, many of which are threatened or endangered, are found only in this eco-region. In fact,  the basin's varied habitats hold the highest species density of amphibians and reptiles on the continent, north of Mexico.
Come explore one of many magnificent, remote river tributaries in a kayak and have your senses restored! You'll also meet other enthusiastic supporters and members.

Apalachicola Riverkeeper volunteers lead fun monthly paddling trips (2-3 hours) giving members and supporters an opportunity to experience the river basin's natural wonders. Please register by the Thursday prior to these 4th Saturday Paddling adventures. Current members can join trips at no cost. Donations are also welcomed.  Join now.

Donations for Fourth Saturday Paddles support our advocacy and education efforts.
