Camp Gordon Johnston seeks public support for museum funding

The Camp Gordon Johnston Association is applying for funds from the State of Florida to help build a new museum building at Carrabelle beach and is seeking support from local business owners to secure the funding.
Their plan is to build a new 6000 square foot museum building there to put the museum on a main thoroughfare near a popular tourist location.

The Camp Gordon Johnston Museum is the only World War Two Museum in North Florida.
It’s currently located at the Carrabelle Municipal Complex but because of the deteriorating condition of the complex, the museum will either have to move or shut down.
By moving to Carrabelle beach, the museum believes it can double its annual visitor numbers to about 8000 people a year and that would help other businesses in the area too.
The museum is seeking letters of support, endorsement or Resolutions in support of their efforts.
