County
commissioners have a list of seven projects that would like to present this
year to the state legislature for funding but they still have to prioritize the
list.
The list includes money for renovating
the Research Reserve Building at Scipio creek for use as the county extension office,
as well as for dredging the Eastpoint channel and Creekmore Channel in
Apalachicola.
The county could also use some
money to purchase a permanent home for the Supervisor of Elections Office and
to purchase some waterfront land east of Carrabelle.
The wish list also includes money
for drainage improvements in a system known as Smokey Hollow on the east side
of Carrabelle and for drainage improvements in Apalachicola.
Not all of the projects are
likely to be funded, so the commission has to prioritize the projects they find
most important before submitting their list to Senator Bill Montford.
The county has till January 31st
to prioritize the projects and said they will do so at their next meeting.
