A long time coach at Port St. Joe High school was inducted
into the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Hall of Fame on Saturday.
Port St. Joe's Chuck Gannon was one of 6 coaches inducted
into the 39th Hall of Fame class at a ceremony in Daytona Beach.
Gannon began his high school coaching career 32 years ago at
Crystal River High School and has been at Port St. Joe since 1994.
He was recognized for his coaching work in baseball and
football.
Coach Gannon has led the Tigersharks to two football State
Championships, including this year's Class 1A title.
The Florida Athletic Coaches Association is comprised of
over 5000 member coaches, both high school and college, in the state of
Florida.
The Association sponsors ten High School All-Star Classics
in nine sports, conducts four coaching clinics each year and recognizes coaches
for their exemplary efforts supporting the youth of this state.
