GULF BREEZE, FL – January 2, 2015 – Mediacom Communications announced that the Sony-released film, The Interview, is available to watch anytime using the OnDemand channel available to all Mediacom Prime TV subscribers. The movie is now available as a pay-per-view selection in both high-definition and standard-definition formats.
The film’s title, The Interview, is a newly-added selection choice displayed in the main OnDemand menu on Mediacom channel 1. Starring Seth Rogen and James Franco,The Interview was released this week to cable television providers, following a limited release to theaters on Christmas Day.
Interest in watching The Interview has risen amidst the controversy with North Korean officials who did not want the film to be distributed. Mediacom officials said the movie’s availability in OnDemand marks an industry milestone as the first major studio film to be simultaneously released in theaters, online and on pay-per-view through cable providers.
Mediacom subscribers are given access to The Interview at the normal pay-per-view price ($5.99), and each rental is viewable for two days.
