The Weems Memorial
Healthcare Foundation this week presented a check for 18 thousand dollars to
Weems Memorial Hospital to purchase some necessary equipment for the hospital.
The money will purchase
an ACL Elite, which is a coagulation analyzer system.
It will help patients
who are on blood thinners and make sure they don’t have to leave the hospital
for blood tests.
The second piece of
equipment is a I Stat point of care which is a hand-held system to do blood
chemistry in the patients rooms they don’t have to be taken out of their rooms
for blood work.
The hospital said both
pieces of equipment were sorely needed.
The county commission
and the hospital said the Healthcare foundation worked their tails off to raise
the money and said they couldn’t ask for a better group of people helping the
hospital.
