2014 was a record year for tourism in Florida.
According
to preliminary estimates released by VISIT FLORIDA, 97.3 million
visitors came to Florida in 2014, an increase almost 4 percent over
2013.
It’s
the fourth consecutive record year for visitation to Florida; the
number of travel-related jobs in 2014 was also a record high, with well over
1.1 million Floridians employed in the tourism industry.
VISIT
FLORIDA estimates that 11.5 million overseas visitors and 3.8 million Canadians
came to Florida in 2014 and show that Floridians took a record total
of 20.2 million in-state pleasure trips.
