Franklin county hires new veterans' affairs director

Franklin County commissioners have hired a new Veterans affairs director.

The board agreed on Tuesday to hire Charles Elliot for the position – he has served as assistant director for a number of years.

The Veterans affairs office helps provide needed services to local military veterans and helps veterans through the various Veterans affairs systems to get the assistance they need

Mister Elliot will replace William Scott who is retiring from the Veterans Affairs office on March 31^st.

Mister Scott served in the position for 25 years.
