Franklin
County Emergency Management
“Lunch
and Learn” Exercise
March
10, 2015
10a –
2p
The “Lunch and Learn”
exercise is designed to update and re-familiarize local departments, agencies
and organizations with their roles and responsibilities in emergency
situations. The exercise will focus on the activities that take
place prior to a disaster event, during a disaster and post disaster. It
will be a full activation of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC). The
event will be simulated over several weeks, but will be condensed into a four
hour period for the “day of play”.
Topics will include the
legal authorities and responsibilities for federal, state and local disaster
programs and agencies, roles and responsibilities of agencies and organization
under the Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan, resources and personnel that
are available to respond and the specialized training and equipment needed to
ensure effective action and community safety.
The exercise format
provides a low stress learning environment and will be presented in an open
forum to encourage participation, questions and answers and learning from the
experiences of the audience and presenters.
Please mark your
calendars for this important exercise and bring your ideas to share with your
community partners.
In order to have an
accurate count for lunch, please email me at em2frank@fairpoint.net no
later than March 6th.
