Franklin County school dismissed after written threat found in school
The Franklin County School was released early today after a written threat was found in the school.
Students were released at 1:30, about 45 minutes earlier than usual.
Franklin County School Superintendent Nina Marks said the action was taken to protect the safety of students and staff and to allow the sheriff’s department to investigate.
She did not divulge what threats were made.
Mrs. Marks said at this time there is no reason to believe the threats are credible but said they were serious enough to close the school for further investigation.
