Franklin County starts process to repair Old Ferry Dock Road Boat Ramp

            Franklin County commissioners are seeking money to repair the county ramp at the end of Old Ferry Dock Road.

The ramp is next to Indian Creek Park.

It’s used heavily, but has not been repaired or renovated in decades.

County officials say the ramp needs to be reworked and the bulkhead extended if possible.

The commissioners this month agreed to apply for funds to do the design and permitting for the improvement and will seek construction funds afterward.

If approved the money would come from the state’s Boating Improvement Trust Fund.

The deadline to apply for the money is April 9.
