Volunteers needed to fill mash bags with oyster shells

The Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve has re-scheduled a volunteer program to fill mesh bags with oyster shells.
The program was canceled last week because of weather and will now be held on April the 3rd.
The bagged shells will be used to build a breakwater that will protect the shoreline near the historic Marshall House on Little St. George Island.
The Marshall House is an early 1900’s Florida homestead
The Research Reserve plans to restore the house back to its original state and then open it to the public as a living museum.
If you want to help with the oyster shell bagging, come out to Scipio Creek in Apalachicola on April the 3rd from 9 till noon.
