The Apalachicola National Forest
is looking for people who would like to volunteer as camp hosts at various
recreation sites throughout the forest.
Camp hosts are unpaid volunteer positions.
The hosts do get to camp for free in the camping or day use
recreation area where they work as well as propane reimbursement and tools needed for the job, in exchange
for 30 hours of service per week.
Some of the duties that camp hosts do include welcoming
visitors and providing them with information about the forest, performing
general site maintenance, and assisting the Recreation Technicians.
Currently volunteers are needed for Camel Lake Recreation Area
and Whitehead Landing in Liberty County and Hickory Landing and Fort Gadsden in
Franklin County.
Camp hosts must have their own self-contained camping unit
such as an RV, pull behind or fifth wheel trailer.
Full hookups are available at most host sites.

National Forest, contact Chandra Roberts an
