The
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will meet April 14th
through the 16th and
there will be a few items of interest for local hunters and fishermen.
The
FWC will continue its discussions on possible bear-management changes which
could include a limited bear hunting season.
That
is being considered because of the growing number of human/bear interactions in
Florida including an attack in Eastpoint last December.
The
FWC will also discuss possible amendment of restricted species endorsements for
commercial harvest of certain saltwater species and discuss modifications to
the Gulf red snapper recreational season.
You
can see a full agenda online at myfwc.com.
Next
week’s meeting will be held at Florida A&M’s Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose
Center.
