A student at the Franklin County school was arrested Wednesday in
connection with a written bomb threat that shut down the school early on
Monday.
The student is a
juvenile and his name has not been released.
The Sheriff’s Office
became aware of the student after he told other students about writing the note.
The student was
interviewed and confessed.
He was arrested on
Wednesday and charged with False Bomb Threat which is a 2nd degree Felony.
The Department of
Juvenile Justice was notified and made the decision to release the suspect back
into the care of his parent.
The incident did force the school to close down about an hour
earlier than usual on Monday and also led to a thorough search of the campus by
K-9 officers from Franklin, Bay and Leon Counties.
No explosive devices were discovered on campus during the
search.
