Clerk of Court Administrative
assistant Michael Moron has been chosen to replace Alan Pierce when he retires later
this year.
Mister Moron was selected from an
original list of 25 applicants for the job.
The top three candidates were supposed
to be interviewed by the county commission on Tuesday – but two had withdrawn
their applications.
Mister Moron’s new title will be
county coordinator.
Alan Pierce is retiring in
September from county employment.
He began working for the county
in 1988 as the county planner but over the years his job description was
expanded to encompass many aspects of county government and his replacement will
need knowledge and competence in a broad number of areas, not just one single
department.
Mister Moron has worked with the
Clerk’s office for ten years and has also recorded and kept minutes for County
Commission meetings, so he is well versed on county activities.
Mister Pierce will spend much of the
year working with Michael Moron to insure that there is a smooth transition.
