CARRAWAY CUTOFF SHOOTING UPDATE
Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office deputies have detained a 19-year-old Crawfordville man in connection with the shooting of two victims on Carraway Cutoff in Crawfordville at 2:18 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel.
Chantz Heath Carraway is being detained at the Wakulla County Jail pending official charges being filed. Charges are expected to filed later today.
The investigation is ongoing into the shooting of Brittany Louvon Harris, 23, of Panacea and Shawn Spieler, 39, of Youngstown, FL.
Deputies were dispatched to 237 Carraway Cutoff Wednesday, May 27 after an injured Spieler ran to a neighbor and told the neighbor he had been shot in the face. Deputies discovered that Spieler had also been stabbed in the neck.
As the investigation continued, Harris was discovered by a deputy at a nearby location. She was also shot in the head and suffered a broken wrist from being struck by a blunt object. The three subjects spent the day together and it appears the conflict was drug related.
Carraway was still on scene when deputies took him into custody to question him about the shootings. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and State Attorney’s office also assisting the WCSO with the investigation.
The two victims remain at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital where they were transported for treatment of their injuries. The case investigation continues.
