Come watch a sea turtle release on St. George Island on Wednesday

Gulf World Marine Institute in Panama City will release two sea turtles into the Gulf at the St. George Island state park on Wednesday.
Gulf World will release a young loggerhead sea turtle named “Wishbone” that has been at Gulf World for several months.
She arrived severely emaciated and anemic.
She has been staying at Gulf World gaining weight and receiving iron supplements to help restore her red blood cells.
The second turtle is an endangered Kemp’s Ridley turtle that was rescued from a cold stun event in New England last winter.
There were 73 turtles rescued, and this is one of the last to be released.
It was being treated for pneumonia.
If you would like to watch the turtle release - the public is invited to come out and bring cameras.
The release will happen at noon on Wednesday, May 6th at St. George Island State Park.

Get there early for a good view.
