Previous quarter overall photo contest winner: “Moonrise over Picayune” by Susan Stocker at Picayune Strand State Forest.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam and the Florida Forest Service invite residents and visitors to submit photos taken in Florida’s beautiful state forests for the quarterly state forest photo contest. Contest rules and regulations, along with entry forms, can be found here. Photos are due by June 20 for this quarter’s awards. Winners will receive a Florida Forest Service T-shirt and access to a campsite for three days at no cost in a state forest. Quarterly winners are also entered into the annual Photo of the Year contest.

“Our 37 state forests provide opportunities for individuals, families and children of all ages to enjoy the outdoors,” said Commissioner of Agriculture Adam H. Putnam. “The beautiful scenery, plant life and wildlife in our state forests create a setting for wonderful photographs.”

The Florida Forest Service, a division of the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, manages 37 state forests on more than 1 million acres of public forest land while protecting 26 million acres of homes, forestland and natural resources from the devastating effects of wildfire.
