RE:                  Flags at Half-Staff for Peace Officers Memorial Day

            As a mark of respect for all law enforcement officers who have heroically sacrificed their lives to protect and defend us, and pursuant to a Presidential Proclamation designating May 15, 2015 as Peace Officers Memorial Day, I hereby direct the flags of the United States and the State of Florida to be flown at half-staff at all local and state buildings, installations, and grounds throughout the State of Florida from sunrise to sunset on Friday, May 15, 2015.

            On this day, I call upon all Floridians to honor those who serve in law enforcement and those who have made the ultimate sacrifice with appropriate ceremonies and activities. Further, I encourage all Floridians to display the United States and State of Florida flags at half-staff from their homes and businesses on May 15, 2015.
