Join hands across the sand on St. George Island this Saturday

There will be a “Hands across the Sand” event on St. George Island this Saturday to draw attention to the dangers of offshore oil drilling.
“Hands across the Sand” was first held in 2010 as a way for people to show their opposition to offshore oil drilling.
Its held on beaches around the country.
Participants of the event wear black clothing and stand on local beaches holding hands to represent the damage an oil spill can do to Florida’s beaches.
This weekend’s event will be held on the St. George Island public beach – it starts at noon.

You can get more information about the event on-line at http://www.handsacrossthesand.org/
