Local unemployment decreases in April

Unemployment in Franklin County fell from 5 percent to 4.6 percent in April giving us one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida.
Labor statistics released last week show 218 people looking for work in Franklin County in April; 21 fewer than in March.
The workforce also decreased by 4 people.
Seven counties had lower unemployment rates than Franklin County in April.
Unemployment in Gulf County fell from 5.1 to 4.9 percent.
304 people were looking for work in Gulf County in April down from 316 in March.

Wakulla County continues to have one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida at 4.4 percent - in Liberty County unemployment was fell from 6.1 to 5.7 percent.
