Franklin County gets two bids for disaster training program

Franklin County opened proposals this week from companies interested in providing disaster response training and exercises through the Franklin County emergency Management office.

Two companies bid on the project including The Management Experts LLC out of Tallahassee, which has been overseeing the training to Franklin County for over 10 years.

A committee including Emergency Management Director Pam Brownell and county coordinator Michael Moron will read the proposals and make a recommendation at a future county commission meeting.

The training and exercise program is funded through a nearly 13 thousand dollar grant.

Mrs Brownell said this is likely the last time the county will get the training funds as the program funding is being reallocated to other uses.
