Perry Man steps in front of vehicle on SGI bridge

A Perry man was seriously injured on the St. George Island Bridge Saturday night after stepping into the path of an oncoming vehicle.
The Highway patrol said 36 year old Steven Keith Severance was seriously injured and taken to Tallahassee memorial Hospital for treatment.
The accident happened around 9:20 Saturday night.
The Highway patrol said 76 year old David Henderson Watts of Tallahassee was heading south on the bridge when he came to a vehicle parked on the south shoulder of the roadway.
Mister Watts drove toward the center of the road to give the parked vehicle some room and that’s when Mister Severance stepped from in front of the parked vehicle into the path of Mister Watts 2003 Toyota Highlander.
Mister Severance was struck by the passenger side fender and door mirror.

The Highway patrol said Mister Severance had been drinking – Mister Watts had not.
