Applications being accepted for vacant Franklin county commission seat

Applications are now being accepted from people who would like to serve as Franklin County’s Commissioners for District 1 which represents St. George Island and much of Eastpoint.

The seat was vacated by Pinki Jackel on August 21st after she was named to serve as Franklin County’s Supervisor of Elections.

Mrs. Jackel’s replacement will be named by Governor Rick Scott.

To be eligible, you do have to live in District 1.

So far two people have applied, Stephen Lanier and Hank Kozlowsky, both of whom live in Eastpoint.
