Two Crawfordville men arrested on drug charges
Two Crawfordville men were arrested on drug charges after they attempted to purchase a large quantity of Sudafed from Walgreens pharmacy on July 30, according to Sheriff Charlie Creel. Sudafed is used as one of the main ingredients in the manufacture of methamphetamines.
Deputy Ashton Lesane responded to Walgreens in reference to a group of suspicious people attempting to purchase a large quantity of Sudafed. Walgreens management requested the issuance of trespass warnings against the subjects. Lt. Sherrell Morrison began issuing trespass warnings for all the subjects involved.
During the process it was determined that Lucas James Porter, 31, of Crawfordville had an outstanding warrant out of Leon County and Admiral Doyle Barwick, 29, of Panacea had an active warrant out of Franklin County. Both men were taken into custody.
Deputy Will Hudson and K-9 Roxie were called to the scene to determine if any illegal narcotics were inside the subject’s vehicle. K-9 Roxie had a positive alert for narcotics. During the vehicle search, a powdery residue yielded positive results for methamphetamine. Drug paraphernalia was also found. Marijuana was also discovered inside the vehicle.
Charles Kevin Agerton, 51, of Crawfordville was arrested for possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Porter was charged with possession of methamphetamine and resisting an officer without violence. The marijuana weighed 59 grams and the methamphetamine weighed 17.5 grams. Deputy Kyle Hanks, Deputy Alan Middlebrooks, Deputy Ethan Ard and Sgt. Matt Helms also investigated.
Trespass warnings for the store were issued for Paula Beatrice Kilgore, 48, of Crawfordville and Sheila Lynn Kilgore, 28, of Crawfordville in addition to Agerton, Porter and Barwick.
Agerton posted a $3,000 bond and was released on July 31 and Porter remains in the Wakulla County Jail under a $12,750 bond.
