CW Robert awarded bid for county road paving project

County commissioners this week awarded a bid to the CW Roberts Company out of Hosford to repave a number of roads around the county.

CW Roberts was one of 5 companies to bid on the project – they had the lowest bid at just over 1.7 million dollars.

The highest bid was over 2.4 million dollars.

The road paving project will include about 7 miles of roads spread across every county commission district.

This will be the first county-wide road paving project in about 6 years.

The County commission is considering increasing the local gas tax by another penny a gallon which could allow for paving projects more often in the future.
