Liberty County Correctional Officer accused of accepting payments to smuggle cigarettes

A Liberty County corrections officer is accused of accepting illegal payoffs and smuggling cigarettes into the state prison in Bristol.
Rashad Ford was arrested on Wednesday by the Florida Department of Corrections Office of Inspector General.
He was charged with introduction of contraband into a state correctional institution and five counts of unlawful compensation by a public official.
According to an arrest affidavit, Ford was wired money through Western Union at least 5 times to smuggle cigarettes into the facility.

The name of who sent the money and the amounts that were sent were not released.
