Burglar arrested Saturday at Cape San Blas home

The Gulf County Sheriff’s office arrested a burglar in Cape San Blas Saturday who was making himself at home in a house that wasn’t his.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to a residential alarm in the 1000 block of Cape San Blas road just before noon on Saturday.

When they got there they found 45 year old Kenneth N. Rogers inside the home plundering through the kitchen cabinets and refrigerator.

Rogers was arrested; at the time of his arrest he appeared to be preparing to take a shower.

During a sweep of the home, deputies found the drawers and medicine cabinet rummaged through in a bathroom and they found some damage to a portion of the floor and ceiling which was the result of Rogers accidently locking himself in a room and being unable to get out.

Rogers was charged with Burglary of a Structure while Armed and with Criminal Mischief.

He was transported to the Gulf County Detention Facility where he is currently held on a $16,000 bond.
