High water prompts temporary closure of several roads in Apalachicola River WEA

Due to recent rainfall, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) has temporarily closed several roads located within the Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environmental Area (ARWEA).
The closure includes all of the Saul Creek Unit, Bloody Unit, and portions of the Quinn and Doyle Creek Tracts. Butcher Pen Landing, Gardner Landing, Bloody Bluff Landing and Van Horn Landing campgrounds on the Franklin County side of the ARWEA are also included in the closure. The road closure will remain in effect until further notice to ensure public safety and resource conservation.
If you have additional questions, contact the FWC’s Northwest Regional Office at (850) 265-3676.
