NWFWMD provides over 2 million dollars for area water projects

The Northwest Florida Water Management District's has approved spending more than $2.4 million for water supply development projects across northwest Florida.

Franklin County won’t see any of the money, but projects were approved in Gulf, Liberty and Wakulla counties.

The City of Port St. Joe will get nearly 53 thousand dollars to complete the upgrade of water mains along Highway 98 and State Road 71.


The City of Bristol in Liberty County is getting nearly 285 thousand to complete a project to construct a ground storage tank and chlorination system.

The City of Sopchoppy will receive $291,000 to replace aging and undersized water lines with upgraded mains.


This funding was awarded as part of a competitive grant program designed to help local governments and non-profit utilities address local water supply challenges and meet regional water supply protection and management needs.
