Snook season opens Tuesday in the Gulf of Mexico

The recreational harvest season for snook reopens on March 1st in Florida’s Gulf of Mexico state and federal waters.

The season will remain open through April 30.

Fishermen can keep one snook per day that is not less than 28 or more than 33 inches total length.

A snook permit and saltwater fishing license are required to keep snook and it is illegal to buy or sell snook.

Only hook-and-line gear is allowed when targeting or harvesting snook.
