Gulf Council's Standing and Special Shrimp 
Scientific and Statistical Committees to Meet
 
The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council will convene a meeting of its Standing and Special Shrimp Scientific and Statistical Committees (SSC) beginning Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 1:00 pm, concluding no later than 3:00 pm. During the meeting, the SSC will review updated Penaeid Shrimp Stock Assessments and review an update on the Aggregate Maximum Sustainable Yield (MSY) and Optimum Yield (OY) Working Group which will meet March 2, 2016.

The Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council is one of eight regional Fishery Management Councils established by the Fishery Conservation and Management Act of 1976. The Council prepares fishery management plans which are designed to manage fishery resources within the 200-mile limit of the Gulf of Mexico.
