Climb the SGI lighthouse for free on Saturday

Saturday, April 16, 2016 is Florida Lighthouse Day.  The day will be observed at the Cape St. George Light on St. George Island, Florida, by offering all visitors to the lighthouse the opportunity to climb at no charge.  The lighthouse, museum, and gift shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Florida Lighthouse Day is held annually on the third Saturday in April to commemorate the contributions of Florida’s lighthouses to the maritime safety and cultural heritage of the state.  Many lighthouses in Florida will offer special activities to mark the day.  Come celebrate Florida Lighthouse Day at the Cape St. George Light by climbing 92 stairs into history and enjoying the beautiful views of the Gulf of Mexico and Apalachicola Bay!
