Flood advisory for Crooked River, New River, Ochlocknee River, Rio Vista, and Hickory Hammock Areas

FLOOD ADVISORY

April 4, 2016

C.H. Corn Hydroelectric Facility, as of 8:30 am 04/04/16, has 3 gates open at 100% and releasing 18,500 cfs. Calculations indicate the high possibility of flooding in Franklin County in about 30-36 hours along Crooked River, New River, Ochlocknee River, Rio Vista, and Hickory Hammock Areas.

If you live directly along the water’s edge, or if your home is subject to flooding due to river flooding along these rivers:

• Be extremely vigilant during the next couple of days as the water starts to flow down the river.
• A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on the current forecast.
• Residents in and near the area should continue to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
• Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Also, If you live in an area affected, please email
dave.mordecai@talgov.com and request to be added to the notification directory for future river flooding incidents.
