The Nation Weather Service Flood Warning continues:
1049 PM EDT TUE APR 5 2016 The Flood Warning continues for the Ochlockonee River near Concord (CR 12). * Until Sunday evening. *
At 10:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 39.2 feet. * Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast. * Flood stage is 36.0 feet.
* Forecast: The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by Sunday early afternoon. * Impact: At 38.5 feet: County highway 12 may become
closed to vehicular traffic.
C.H. Corn Hydroelectric Facility, as of 8:00 am 04/07/16, has 3 gates open at 100% and releasing 18,500 cfs.
River Gauge at Hickory Hammock still reading 5.75' above sea level this morning. Moderate flooding still observed with river continuing to flow
towards Carrabelle.
Calculations indicate the high probability of more flooding in Franklin County along Crooked River, New River, Ochlockonee River, Rio Vista, and
Hickory Hammock Areas.
Anyone who has campers along these areas should closely monitor the situation and make the necessary arrangements to protect life, safety, and property.
If you live directly along the water’s edge, or if your home is subject to flooding due to river flooding along these rivers:
· Be extremely vigilant during the next couple of days as the water starts to flow down the river.
· A flood watch means there is a potential for flooding based on the current forecast.
· Residents in and near the area should continue to monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible flood warnings.
· Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.
