Former police officer charged with witness tampering

CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. – Agents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement announce an additional charge of witness tampering against former Carrabelle PD Officer Glenn Darius Hampton May, 49, after an investigation showed he was communicating with the victim in his sexual battery case.  Agents believe he coached the victim by telling her what to say when interviewed by law enforcement. May is charged with first degree felony witness tampering, punishable by up to life in prison.


May was arrested in December 2015 and charged with sexual battery and child pornography.  He is being held in the Wakulla County Jail and the case is being prosecuted by the Office of the State Attorney, 2nd Judicial Circuit.
