March unemployment fell slightly

Local unemployment fell in March.

Franklin County unemployment was 4.3 percent last month – down from 4.6 percent the month before.

Labor statistics released last week show 206 people were looking for work in Franklin County in March, 6 fewer than in February.

The workforce also increased by 12 people.

Gulf County unemployment was listed at 4.3 percent – also down from 4.6 percent the month before.

262 people were looking for work in Gulf County in March.

Wakulla County had one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida at 3.9 percent, in Liberty county unemployment rose slightly to 5.1 percent.
