The North Florida Senior Companion Program is looking for volunteers

If you are over 55 and looking for a rewarding way to spend your free time, The North Florida Senior Companion Program is looking for volunteers.

Senior Companion Volunteers visit the homes of seniors in need and provide services like meal preparation, light housekeeping, assisting with personal needs and companionship.

The Senior Companion Program began in 1974 as a way to help frail seniors maintain their independence in an effort to delay or prevent nursing home placement.

All Senior Companion volunteers receive a tax-free stipend, pre and on-going service training, on-duty insurance, transportation assistance, and paid holidays and leave.

To find out more, contact or Ivy Nixson, Senior Volunteer Programs Coordinator at 850-245-5936.

Please contact Ms. Ivy Nixson at (850) 245-5936 or e-mail nixsoni@ecsbigbend.org for more information.
