Time is running out to get your oyster harvesting license

If you are an oyster harvester, you are running out of time to buy your harvesting license for the next year.

The licenses are 100 dollars, but remember June 30th is the last day to purchase your Apalachicola Bay Oyster Harvesting license before a 500 dollar late fee takes effect.

The licenses are being sold at the shellfish lab at Scipio Creek in Apalachicola.

And remember you have to take a 25 minute seminar before you can buy the license.

You can see the seminar at the shellfish lab in Apalachicola every week day at 3 PM.

You can also take the seminar on-line at www.myfwc.com/shellfish.

When you go to the site you will have to create an account, so that once you’ve finished with the seminar you can get a participation certificate which you will need to get your oyster harvesting license.
