Economic Policy Institute study finds Franklin County has highest wage disparity in Florida and the 7th highest in the US

A recent study by the Economic Policy Institute says that Franklin County is the most unequal county in Florida when it comes to income.
In Franklin County the top 1% makes 73.4 times more than the bottom 99 percent.
The study said that the average income of the top 1% in Franklin County is$1,842,033 while the average income of the bottom 99% is $25,102.
That’s more than double the statewide average of the top 1 percent making over 34 times more than the bottom 99 percent.
The study found that only 6 other counties in the entire United States had a higher income disparity than Franklin County.
The Economic Policy Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan think tank created in 1986 to include the needs of low- and middle-income workers in economic policy discussions.
