The Franklin County Commission has issued a letter of support to the City of Carrabelle to help it apply for 150 thousand dollars in state funding to preserve the Marvin N. Justiss Carrabelle City Hall.
The Old City Hall currently houses the Carrabelle History Museum; city offices moved into the old Carrabelle High School years ago.
The Franklin County commission voted last week to support the city’s application for a Historic Preservation Grant which will hopefully pay for an elevator in the building as well as other additions.
The Board supported a similar request for a $60,000 Small Matching Grant application in May.
