Local unemployment up in June

Local unemployment jumped over 4 percent in June.
Franklin County unemployment was 4.2 percent last month – that’s up from 3.9 percent the month before.
Franklin County still had one of the lowest unemployment rates in Florida; only 6 counties had lower unemployment rates than Franklin County.
206 people were looking for work in Franklin County in June, 16 more than in May.
The workforce also increased by 19 people.
Gulf County unemployment also increased from 3.9 to 4.1 percent.
 256 people were looking for work in Gulf County in June.

Wakulla County unemployment was 4.2 percent last month, in Liberty county unemployment rose to 5.2 percent.
