ANERR HOSTS SEAGRASS EXPLORATION CLASS


~ Be prepared to get wet! Before spending time in the classroom participants will immerse themselves in the vibrant seagrass ecosystem with a guided snorkeling tour ~

WHAT:           A one-day seagrass exploration class involving snorkeling and instruction from experienced marine biologists

WHEN:           August 19, 10:00am - 3:00pm Eastern Time

WHERE:         The class will meet at the St. Joseph Bay Buffer Preserve, in the main lodge

HOW:              Registration is required and the cost is $25 per person. Visit gulfalliancetraining.com and click on Seagrass Exploration Class, click the box marked Register in the upper right.

Participants need to bring snorkeling gear, water shoes (not flip flops), sun screen, towel, water bottle and a bagged lunch. Food will not be provided. Change of clothes is recommended.

Stay cool this Summer with a fantastic exploration of our crystal-clear seagrass ecosystem! This class offered by the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve will teach you all about seagrasses and their habitat through hands-on activities, group investigation, and instruction from experienced marine biologists. The class starts off with a guided snorkeling tour of the protected seagrass beds in St. Joe Bay, then students will meet back at the St. Joseph Buffer Preserve to eat their lunch and learn a little more about what they saw in the water.
