Florida continues to break tourism records

Tourists continue to flock to the Sunshine State in record numbers.               
Governor Rick Scott announced Friday that 57.4 million tourists visited the state during the first half of 2016.
That's the highest six-month total ever and a 4.3 percent increase over last year.         
Visit Florida estimates that the number includes more than 49 million domestic visitors.
The rest visited from Canada or other countries.   
Governor Scott said the state is on track to reach 115 million visitors this year.
Record tourism also means record tourist -related jobs.
The state estimates that over one and a quarter million Floridians are employed in the tourism industry - up 4.3 percent over the year before.
