Numerous arrests made in burglary ring

                The Franklin county Sheriff’s office has arrested several juveniles in connection with a string of auto burglaries on St. George Island around the 4th of July.

All of the items were stolen from vehicles that were left unlocked during the night or that were unsecured beneath rental homes.

Detectives were able to identify and interview several suspects in the cases which led to the arrests as well as the recovery of a large quantity of stolen property.

The items recovered during the investigation include yeti ice chests, an outboard motor, a generator, several handguns, designer sunglasses, electronics, and miscellaneous fishing equipment.

The total amount of recovered items is estimated to be around $6,000.

Detectives are still looking for the owners of certain property.

If you were on St. George Island around the 4th of July and are missing property, you should contact the sheriff’s office at 850-670-8500.


Proof of legal ownership will have to be substantiated before the sheriff’s office can return your property.
