More days to fish for red snapper in November

Red snapper fishermen will get a few extra days to fish during November.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission approved a 7 day expansion to this year’s red snapper season to make up for fishing that was missed because of weather conditions caused by Hurricane Hermine in early September.

The expanded open season dates will be this weekend, November 5th and 6th as well as Veteran's Day weekend November 11th and 12th.

Red snapper fishing will also be allowed on November 25th, 26th and 27th, which is the Thanksgiving holiday.

The Nov. 26 date is also a saltwater license-free fishing day.
