An
Eastpoint resident sustained minor injuries in a single vehicle
accident in Liberty County on Monday afternoon.
The
Highway patrol said 54 year old Michiel Flowers was treated at the
Calhoun-Liberty County hospital for minor injuries sustained after
losing control of a log truck he was driving.
Flowers
was driving the loaded log truck with trailer south on County Road 12
when his 2005 semi partially drifted onto the west grassy shoulder.
The
driver attempted to drive back onto the roadway, but the tractor
trailer began to overturn onto its right side causing several logs to
spill out onto the grassy shoulder and the roadway, blocking County
Road 12.
The
truck came to final rest facing a southerly direction on the east
shoulder of the road.
The
Florida Highway Patrol was assisted by Liberty County Sheriff's
Office, Calhoun-Liberty EMS, Sumatra Fire Department, and
Estiffanulga Fire Department.
