OLE 2017 Report
NOAA Law Enforcement 2017 Annual Report
NOAA Law Enforcement personnel patrol our nation’s waters to ensure compliance with our domestic natural resource laws and inspect imports/exports to support sustainable fisheries and fair harvesting. The NOAA Law Enforcement Annual Report includes data and case studies to highlight the office’s mission and operations, and it supports an open dialogue with the public about our priorities, regulatory requirements, and activities.

NOAA Seeks Input on Observer Insurance Requirements
NOAA Fisheries is seeking information on potential insurance packages and costs to formulate a national reform of observer program insurance requirements. This reform would help minimize risks to observers, vessel owners/shore-side processors, and observer provider companies in the event of an observer’s occupational injury. Comments are due September 14.

Federal Fisheries Permits
Federal Permit Renewals – Open for Comment
By August 31, please submit your comments on a proposed rule to revise the renewal process for federal vessel permits, licenses, endorsements, and dealer permits in the Southeast Region.  NOAA Fisheries will continue to provide the permit holder notice of an upcoming expiration date, but this proposed rule would remove the requirement that renewal applications be printed and mailed.
